Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. I offer a complimentary consultation to learn about your concerns, answer your questions, and help determine whether an evaluation or therapy is the right next step. It's also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss how I can best support you or your loved one.
Do you accept insurance?
Speech & Mind Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not currently accept insurance. This allows me to provide highly individualized evaluations and therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs without the limitations that insurance plans may impose.
Do I need a referral for an evaluation?
No. A referral is not required for private speech-language, cognitive-communication, or feeding
evaluations and therapy services. Although referrals from physicians and other professionals are
welcome, they are not required to schedule an evaluation.
What ages do you work with?
I work with both children and adults, providing individualized evaluation and therapy for

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
If your child is not meeting communication milestones, has difficulty being understood,
struggles to understand or use language, has feeding concerns, or you simply have questions
about their development, an evaluation can provide clarity, identify strengths and areas of need,
and provide recommendations for support.
Do you work with adults who have experienced a concussion or brain injury?
Yes. I provide cognitive-communication evaluations and treatment for adults experiencing
changes in memory, attention, executive functioning, organization, problem solving, word
finding, or communication following a concussion, traumatic brain injury, stroke, or other
neurological condition.
How long does an evaluation take?
Most evaluations take approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on the clients age and needs.
This may include interviews, standardized testing, informal assessment, clinical observations,
and review of relevant records.
How long will treatment take?
Every treatment plan is individualized. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy, while
others may require longer-term support. Recommendations for frequency, goals, and
anticipated duration are discussed following the evaluation and adjusted as progress is made.
Do you offer virtual services?
Yes. Teletherapy is available for appropriate clients throughout California. During your
consultation, we will discuss whether virtual therapy is a good fit for your needs.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
If available, please bring any relevant medical records, previous evaluations, school reports,
IEPs, therapy reports, or other documents that may help me better understand your concerns. If
you don't have these documents, that's okay—we will discuss everything during your
appointment.
Do you provide services throughout California?
Yes. In-person services are available in the Los Angeles area. Teletherapy is available throughout
California for clients who are appropriate for virtual services.
What happens after I contact you?
After you submit the contact form, I will personally reach out to learn more about your concerns,
answer any questions, and discuss the next steps. If we're a good fit, we will schedule your
consultation or evaluation.
